Recent Searches that led to My Blog

  1. jusco sell almond, hazelnut and walnut
as far as i know of, jusco seremban does sell almond, hazelnut and walnut. pistachio too.if in jusco seremban, almond and pistachio are in the jusco selection containers, arranged at the cut fruits counter/shelf near the fish counter.but walnuts and hazelnut can be found at the baking items aisle.
    hope this helps.

  2. makanan melayu cameron highlands
in my previous post pasal cameron highlands, i think i mentioned dua tempat makan melayu.
Gerai Ikan Bakar Pak Nik – bukak malam
Kedai Makan kat Arked Peladang – bukak  siang. malam tak tau. Tapi bukak siang jelah.

  3. seremban to cameron highland
search ni tersangat selalu membawa ke blog aku.
apakah sebenarnya korang carik?
Kalau ikut sini, jumpa Equatorial dulu. Brinchang. Bawah lagi baru jumpa Tanah Rata.
Tapi korang jumpalah Tanah Rata dulu, baru Brinchang.
Dekat Tanah Rata ada stabaks. Saje nak sebut. 🙂
Tapi aku anak beranak memang nak termuntahlah kalau naik ikut Tapah.
Kalau korang orang Seremban, tinggallah komen. Saya selalu teruja jumpa orang sekampung 😉

  4. pasar malam cameron highland
Mmg murah. Ada bunga kobis, brocoli, celery, tomato ceri. Aku sebut yang aku suka 😉 Harga aku tak ingatlah.
Buah-buahan semua bosar-bosar. Epal, orange, Jambu kristal (Jambu rendam air gula kot).

10 Road Trip Movies

I don’t remember if I ever wrote about the types of movies I like to watch.. macam ada, but I can’t remember. Basically I like to watch movies that are light and funny. Not too heavy, not dark nor depressing. But sometimes I still watch these films because they are good. Like the Green Mile.. that’s depressing, but good.

Anyway, recently I watch a movie on Astro (can’t remember which of those 3 movie channels) about a road trip, and I realize, apart from films zaman kuda (I call it), I also love road trip movies. I always dream of a road trip with closest buddies. A trip to Batu Pahat, with eating pitstop ala ala Jalan Jalan Cari Makan would be great.. kan J & K?

So today I just want to list out the road trip movies that are memorable and that I just love. Most of them may seem stupid and boring to you, but sometimes, the dumber the better.

ps: The list is in no particular order.

1. Fanboys – the boys are so bangang and kelakar.

2. Wild Hogs – oh, this one was so very hillarious. Tim Allen and John Travolta.

3. Stand By Me – This will always remind me of River Pheonix. And fat Jerry O’Connell.

4. Michael – Maybe most don’t know this movie. This is the one where John Travolta was an angel. But I love Andie MacDowell. You don’t see much of her.

5. Hangover – At first I didn’t want to watch it. But my friend made me. And boleh tahan kelakar.. and stupid as usual.

6. Pee Wee’s Big Adventure – Oh, this was my all time favorite masa kecik-kecik.

7. Thelma and Louise – Okay, who doesn’t know this kan. And no road trip movie list is complete without this.

8. Spinning Gasing – Why I like Spinning Gasing? Entah.. but it certainly sticks my head.

9. Road to Perdition – This is kinda dark. But I love mafia movie as well. I love Tom Hanks. I just found out it is based on a comic, which is based on a Japanese Manga.

10. Annie’s Point – I don’t really know if this is a film or one of those made for tv movie, but I love it. Betty White is great.

So, what’s your road trip movie? Maybe I should korek road trip movie melayu pulak.. ada ke? Mesti ada, kan.

3 Places In Kedah – The lesser attraction

Thanks to the organization i worked with, I had the opportunity to go on CHOGM (if u dont know that, ask me)… This time it’s in Sik, Kedah, about 50 – 60 minutes drive from Alor Setar. Had it not for work, I guess, I would probably never set foot in this area, let alone discover wonderful places. In the midst of busy schedule, we managed to squeeze in some time to visit these places:

1. Air Panas Ulu Lenggong

The place had been developed beatifully with pretty landscape. You have to go at night when the air is cooler but the air (water) is warmer. They have 3 pools.. hot, hotter and hottest. I just dipped my legs due to my laziness to bring extra stiffs – towel, clothes, etc.

2. Lata Mengkuang

The waterfall is just great and it’s so clean. Not polluted. Pergilah..

3. Rimba Taqwa

If I’m not mistaken, this is one of the earliest recreational forest established in Kedah. The waterfall is just breathtaking.

Too bad I left my camera at home. I wish I had some pictures to share. But anyway, if you plan for a cuti-cuti malaysia in the nature, considerlah sik, kedah.. maybe you can book a place kat KEDA Resort, which is nearby these places. (wah promo organisasi sendiri plak…)

9 Tempat – JJCM dari Seremban ke Cameron Highlands

1. Nasi Lemak Power

nasik lomak power

Place: Hentian Sebelah Nilai, from Seremban to KL. Gerai yang hujung sekali. Pagi-pagi memang orang beratur nak beli)
Items Bought: 2 Pinggan Nasi Lemak with Paru Sambal & Telur + 1 Pinggan Nasi Lemak with Telur
Price: RM10.60
Verdict: Oklah. Boleh Tahan. Worth trying at least once.

2. Baskin Robbin

Ice Cream
Place:
R&R Tapah (towards Utara)
Item Bought: Single Regular – Baseball Nut
Price: RM6.90 + 5% GST = RM7.25
Verdict: Not too bad… Baskin Robbin, apo nak dikato. But, on the flavor Baseball Nut, the cashew macam tak go so well with rasperry je.

3. Pasar Malam Brinchang
Place: Kat Brinchang, Cameron Highlands. Dekat dengan Hotel Star Regency and Balai Polis Brinchang. Pukul 4 lebih dah start dah nampaknya.

Strawberry Sodap
Items Bought: Chocolate Coated Strawberries on a Stick
Price: RM1.50 per stick
Verdict: Coklat ni rasa macam chocolate flavored air gula with a little milk. I supposed real chocolate coated would have tasted nicer. But, for RM1.50, agak heavenly makan strawberry masam with thick chocolate syrup. Patutlah Datin Seri Siti suka.. muahaha.

 Cendawan Goreng Tak Sedap

Item Bought: Cendawan Goreng Tepung
Price: RM2.50
Verdict: Macam ok… if only the tepung was salty instead of slightly sweetened. Ada byk gerai jual sayur-sayur celup tepung ni. My advice, try dulu sebelum beli. Most ada letak sample. The ones yang guna tepung rupa macam tempura tu, tastes nicer.

Item Bought: Jagung Kukus
Price: Tak Ingat
Verdict: Ohh, the corn was so sweet, so fresh! But I would have preferred in boiled in salted water, sbb steamed ni rasa macam mentah plak. But, still sedap and segar geng!!

4. Cameron Valley Tea and Scones

Place: On the way up to Cameron Highlands, from Tapah or from Sg Pulai. Can’t miss it. Besar sign board dia warna kuning.
Items Bought: Masala Tea by the cup, Teh Tarik by the cup, Blackcurrant Tea Small Pot (good for two cups), 3 Curry Puffs and Butter Cake.
Price: RM5 + RM3 + RM8 + RM3 + RM3 = RM22.00
Verdict: My first time drinking masala tea. Rasa okaylah.. but that spice, what do you call it… macam biji warna light yellow tu, kuat sangat rasanya. Otherwise okay. I would have preferred normal teh tarik. The teh tarik, sodap. Macam teh tarik mamak… but smooth. Blackcurrant tea, was, like recommended, a hit with the kids. My kids called it, Sugus Tea. Curry puff, not bad. Biasa je. Tapi xdelah x sedap. Size dia macam karipap kat low land, yang 3 Seringgit. So, everything overpriced lah. But for the (literally) cool experience, okaylah.

5. Kok Lim Strawberry Farm

Place: Entahlah… lepas Brinchang. Bawah-bawah sikit. Tapi sebelum Equatorial Hotel.
Items Bought: Self Pluck Strawberries
Price: RM20 for ½kg
Verdict: Farm dia takdelah grand mana. Strawberries pon not as sweet as I expected it to be. Susah jugak rupanya nak cari strawberry manis. But for the experience for the kids, nak kutip sendiri strawberries, okaylah. Bayarlah 2 kali ganda. Kalau kat Pasar Malam tu, RM10 je. My advice, unless korang ada kanak-kanak nak kutip strawberry, tak payah self pluck. Membazir je. Dah lah yang jaga tu tak friendly langsung.

6. Gerai Ikan Bakar Pak Nik

Place: Kat Brinchang tulah.. macam mana aku nak describe eh.. korang cariklah. Dia ramai orang.
Items Bought: Kerang Bakar + Kuey Teow Goreng + 3 Gelas Teh O Suam
Price: RM7.00
Verdict: Aku rasa, ni jelah gerai makanan Melayu yang sensible kat Cameron ni. Sorrylah. Tapi generally gerai-gerai makanan kat Cameron ni, mmg tak sedap and overpriced. Katanye kawan aku, pengusaha gerai ni memang dari Kelantan sebab tulah sedap. Tapi service agak lambat sebab ramai orang.

7. Gerai Makan

Place: Dekat Multicrop Central Market. Kawan aku cakap, orang panggil ni Arked Peladang. Yolah agaknye tu.
Items Bought: 2 Nasi Ayam Madu + Nasi Lemak Kosong (xde telur, just ikan bilis) + 3 Gelas Teh O Suam (Oh, aku punye ada limau).
Price: RM15.00
Verdict: Service, lembab GILA. Siap lupa nasi lemak anak aku tu. Padahal kosong ok, gerai tu. Makanan? Nasi ayam madu yang kononnya specialty ni dihidangkan sejuk.. (adakah sebab kita di CH?). Ayam tak rasa madu pon. Nasib baik tukang ambik order comel. Kalau ada pilihan, tak payahlah makan kat sini.

8. Raaju Strawberry Farm

Sundae Nyum Nyum
Place:
Dekat dengan Equatorial Hotel. Dekat dengan KEA Farm. Atas bukit.
Items Bought: Strawberry Waffle + Strawberry Sundae
Price: RM6 + RM6 = RM12.00
Verdict: Sedap!!! Especially the waffle, warm and soft. Topped with ice cream… simply divine. Nyum nyum. Terliur tak?

9. Boh Sungei Palas Plantation

Teh Boh
Place: Sg Palas Plantation. Atas Bukit. Kodai tutup 4.30pm. Guard yang jaga laluan tu cakap, dah petang bawaklah kereta sampai tepi kilang. Kalau tak kena jalan sikit. Somput jugaklah, sebab dia mendaki dan kena pulak bawak handbag extra, sorang 14kg, sorang 26kg.
Items Bought: Mango by Teapot for One + Egg Sandwich (Buy 1 Free 1) + Teh Tarik by Cup la.. kalau tak, tak nampak tarik.. hehe.
Price: RM2.30 + RM3.00 + RM5.00 = RM10.30
Verdict: Man, the place was beautiful. Simply breathtaking. The Kedai Uumph teashop agak commercial. Not unlike the one in KLCC… but this one has the tea plantation scenery. Then, there’s of course the tea factory and info gallery. So, agak worth the visit… if not just for food. Food, okaylah. For the taste and quality, it is nicely priced. You should try the chocolate cake. Nampak sedap. Orang pon kata sedap. Sorry xde gambar. Kalau tak dapat nak daki Cameron, kemudian daki pulak Bukit Sg Palas ni, pergi jelah KLCC.

5 Things I Bring When Watching Movie With My Kids

Going to the cinema these days is so unlike dulu-dulu. During our "duo" or singular days, watching a movie at the cinema was usually an impromptu decision, unplanned. But these days, having "extra handbags", I have to literallly carry extra bags when going to the cinema. An outing to the cinema is always like a picnic for us… especially with the blankets. Apart from making sure the movie is rated U, I also have to make sure the following are brought:

1. Plain Water
2. Keropok – Mister Potato, Chacos or Twisties
3. Blankets and Sweaters
4. Botol Susu…
5. Big Bag to put all those above in…

If you see a family of 4 plus a big bag, hyper, hyper boy and girl… and crazy mum… at TGV, Seremban 2, that would be us… Definitely!
