When you’re already late, thank goodness for:
1. clothes that’s been pressed from the dry cleaners
2. car that is fully fueled
3. smart tag and it’s reloaded touch and go card
4. traffic light that is green all the way, AND
5. airasia that is always delayed.

Sometimes, when we work too long, once in a while.. we just might need a break. Not all the time. But once after a long while. One man’s drug may differ to another. Many may need to take a huff and puff. Another may want to meet a friend at another floor for a chat (perempuan macam akulah biasanya). Others may want to go out to a great, healthy (or unhealthy) lunch that it may need more than an hour to achieve (or earlier than the regular lunch time).
So, in the spirit of taking a break in order to achieve greater productivity, here are simple rules of thumb to bear in mind.
1. Always carry a folder/file/book with you wherever you go. No matter if you’re just going for a puff (Wpun pejabat gomen sume sepatutnya kawasan larangan).
2. Use the staircase. Likeliness of bumping into other people is slim.
3. Do not chase after the closing lift. There could be people you do not want to meet – your no. 1, for example.
4. If you are caught in the lift with your superior, quickly press the button to the nearest floor. You do not want to be seen going to the carpark one hour or half an hour before the actual lunch hour.
if you have other suggestions, by all means let others know.
Till then, work smart people and remember, “Kerja seikhlas hati, Sempurna pekerjaan“.. also “Gandakan hasil dan pembangunan, Berkhidmat bakti berjasa“.
Oh Goodness… esok is Wednesday. I am so kelam kabut on Wednesday because Wednesday calls for a different routine. Wednesday is my tired day actually. I have so many things to remember that it is always kelam kabut, no matter how organized I try to be. And a whole month had passed too. Which goes to say, my training period is over.
Today, I am going to type it down, with hope (dan kunun-kununnya berazam) that tomorrow I shall remember everything. So, K-lynn.. remember that on Wednesday:
1. There is no mengaji for the kids. So leave those mengaji bags at home. Else, Sorfina is going to scream at you as usual, “Ibu! Kenapa bawak beg mengaji ni?”
2. Afnan has karate on Wednesday. So REMEMBER to pack his karate suit and THE BELT with it.
3. Since it’s Karate day, it means Afnan stays back a little late. So pack heavier bekal. Not just some flimsy roti gula or maggi goreng. Maybe extra allowance too.
4. Sorfina has piano class. At 8pm. So, make sure to take the music class bag and not mengaji. Else, you’ll be like orang gila rushing to pick up the bag in between of fetching the kids and sending to class.
5. Since we might not have time to take dinner BEFORE piano class, make sure to pack some snack before heading home. Buy it during lunch, so you won’t be rushing like orang gila.. again.
6. And remember to bring the laundry and/or laundry receipt so you can pick up the baju batik from the dry cleaner to wear tomorrow (Thursday).
Pheww… even typing this dah rasa semput. Bila clock out tu, mesti rushing nak sampai cepat dengan harapan dapat dinner BEFORE the piano class. Tp tak pernah berjaya. Sebab ada je something that gets in the way, such as.. Boss wants to have a meeting at 5.30pm.. which means I only get to leave at 7.00pm. Or the kids get lost, I keep forgeting the bag, so have to singgah home to pick up the bag. Or one of the kids sakit perut, so kena singgah rumah and do the business. Or my husband dah sampai. Kena pick him up. Then while Sorfina is attending class, I have to rush to Tesco’s surau for maghrib. Then singgah dry cleaner before they close. And then back to pick Sorfina and Afnan up.
Here’s to semangat that for the first time, tomorrow will be smooth sailing. InsyaAllah.
So, tomorrow I will officially be at a new office. Sebenarnya, not so new pun. It’s just back to HQ. In fact, I’ll be at the same floor as before. So, Aras 6, I’m back… but at a different department.
Supposedly, I was to start yesterday, but I took 2 days leave to see that my kids could settle down with some changes as well. Alhamdullillah they seem fine. Not lost or anything. Neither were they sad. No one was injured, no one cried, yours truly included. Leganya.
Today I finally managed to clear my room with whatever little things I have. 30 minutes je, just to show how little things I have in there, because of the little time I spent there. Most were spent in my car. Anyway, cleaning and leaving, I am reminded of the things I will and will not miss. Things I am and am not looking forward. Among others:

2. Orang asek tanya aku, “pregnant ke?” Ke diorang saje nak buat small talk macam, “makan ke?” Kan aku pakai baju maternity ni.. takkan aku nampak macam orang gemuk plak. Yelah, tanyalah soalan seperti, “eh, dah berapa bulan?” I mean, kalau kau tak pasti aku pregnant, mesti tak tanya macam tu kan. Hish…
3. Bila aku duduk kat office ni, semua orang nak cuti? Sudahnya aku kena makan sorang-sorang. Yelah, aku pon nak cuti gak, tapi sebab aku kena cuti tahun depan menguruskan anak aku sekolah, terpaksa kerja hujung tahun.
4. Tak jumpa-jumpa lagi transport nak hantar Afnan balik sekolah. Lepas tu daycare/transit dekat2 umah aku semuanya nak tutup pukul 6. Eh takde ke orang macam aku ni yang sampai rumah pukul 7.. kan ramai je orang kerja putrajaya dan kl dan KLIA keliling2 ni.. Kenapa. kenapa?
5. Office aku ni panas? Kalau kat unit operasi belakang sana sejuk je.. Ke aku je rasa panas duk kat office ni. Maklumlah dah lama tak masuk dan tak lama lagi nak tukar office.
Banyak je lagi persoalan kehidupan yang aku nak utarakan.. tapi banyak lagi kerja pejabat yang aku kena siapkan ni.. So, later.

1. Aku kena pegi tengok tempat ni ada komplen masuk surat khabar semalam lepas tu kena antar hari ni jugak report tu. suka nak besarkan isu kecik.
2. Dah aku kena tgk tempat tu, takde menda pun. KEtua kg tu ajak jalan sana sini. Bukan aku berkira sangat nak tgk kesusahan orang kampung dalam kawasan bandar ni, tapi hari ni mmg aku rasa tak laratnya. Nak terpitam aku rasa duk jalan-jalan bawah matahari. Kalau Tok ketua ajak pergi satu tompek laie, aku nak sound je tadi, “Tok, saya nak terpitam ni. Moh lah kito minam”.
3. Tempat aku cadang nak sewa untuk jadi pejabat kitorang, boleh tak agensi tu kata ada orang lain nak sewa. Dah lah aku dengar namanya pun, syarikat swasta, yang kurang birokrasi macam gomen ni. Hish.. dia boleh cakap, sape cepat dia dapat. Hangin aku.
4. TNT aku bulan Julai dah turun naik Bhg Kewangan ke Bhg aku sebanyak tujuh kali kot. Dah lah aku rasa kesuntukan wang nak raya ni. Wahai YAB PM, tahun ni ada bonus tak?
5. Laman web Sinar Harian apasala nak buat carian kat arkib tu lembab nak mampus takde apanya yang penah keluar kalau aku search. Kalau tak boleh nak buat carian, tak payah letak fungsi tu. Apa gunanya sekadar nak tambah tab. Ni semua yang menyusahkan aku.
6. Ha, lagi satu aku lupa. Aku ada paper yang tak bertaip lagi ni. Bencinya dengan diri aku. Kenapalah setan malas ni bertenggek. Oh, bulan ramadan setan kena gari eh.. aku jelah yang malas ni. Hmmmm
Ok. Saya hanya perlu keluarkan isi hati saya yang tak tangible ini supaya ada sedikit kelegaan. Peduliklah kalau aku asek mengeluh je. Blog aku. Sukati akulah..

Hmm.. when was the last time I wrote a list of 10 things? Too long ago to remember. Well, anyway, I’ve entered the new office and it’s fine. I was told this is temporary. In a month or two, we’ll be moving to a new building, smacked at the other end of the town, one of the busiest spot during the day in this modest city. I won’t complain so much, as it’ll be a shorter route for me. And this route passes by the 24 hour KFC in town, where breakfast is now part of the menu.
Apart from that “tak-lama-lagi-pindah” piece of news (which I don’t really have faith it won’t be long), currently, I also have to manage a few people (as compared to one dulu), whom are scatterely stationed. And it’s not only crossing building (kena drive to get there), it also crosses state boundaries. So, at various moments, I get a little overwhelmed. From one to 14… that’s a little abrupt, wouldn’t you say?
But, let’s not dwell too much on them. Let’s talk about me and the job. So, last week, I get a little preview of the kind of work I’ll be doing. And from there, I’m forseeing the following 10 possibilities:
1. Doing project inspection of course requires me to be outdoor. And with the global warning, you know the sun is blazing even at 10 am. Standing and poking around for about 45 minutes was enough to bake my face. I don’t know if sun block’s gonna work or not, but i better be prepared with the highest SPF.
2. Did I mention it’s hot and hydrating? The moment I step into the car, I was dripping and all I wanted was H²O. I have to make sure I always have enough in my car.
3. Since I cover all parts of Negeri Sembilan AND Melaka, going from one end to the other, I suppose I’ll be spending most of my time in the car. Therefore, I have to make sure it’s a nice place to be in and always comfy.
4. Which of course means, I’ll be out of the office most of the time instead of inside. Less blogging? Well, unless I get a laptop with wifi, then taklah kot.
5. I wake up and leave the house the same time as I do before. Only difference is, I reach the office and arrive home way earlier than before. Balik, sempat lagilah nak play ball with my kids.
6. Oh, I probably won’t be wearing much of baju kurungs to work. Which reminds me, kena check of my “supply” of pantsuits/blouse/pants for work. Does this call for shopping? He he he.
7. I suppose there will be days I’ll be wearing pants to meetings. Takpe kot.. pengerusi tak nampak kaki.
8. I would probably have to scrape my plans of fetching the kids from school. Who knows which part of Negeri Sembilan or Melaka I’ll be at.
9. Most of my work is self-managed. Which means, I probably better get an organizer. That would also mean I have to get a bigger bag lah kan. Nak masuk air, oraganizer, sun block, camera, etc.
10. Breakfast? Kena breakfast kat rumah nampaknya. Kalau tak, dalam kereta. Office pon takde geng… unless I can wait till 10, and stone is at his officelah kan. And me, I’m supposed to be always on the move. Hmmmm….
