8 reasons of 8.

March 21, 2011 3 comments

It’s true, keeping up with one week one entry is no easy task. Anywho, to get back on track, here’s one, insipred by the DailyPost. It may be a repetition from a previous post.

1. I was born on 2 June. 2 + 6 = 8.
2. I was born in the year 1978.
3. I IC No. ends with double 8s.
4. My student number during my years in Shah Alam was 9604108.
5. My student number during my years in Cyberjaya 98100718. If I remember correctly.
6. I got married on 18th of August (8).
7. I got married to a guy whose birthday is on 26 (2+6=8) October ’70 (1+0+7+0=8).. Hehe. Nak jugak tu.
8. My husband (then boyfriend) got me a phone number with 4 eights in it.

I’m sure these are just coincidence, or I make them so (like no. 7). But is it really my favorite number? What’s yours?

6 Things I’m A Sucker For…

December 23, 2010 3 comments

(the ones that I can think of right now.. must be top of my list)

1. All things mini. Macam ada mini cup. Miniature spoon. Apa-apalah. I would find them all too cute. That’s why I love shot glasses. Because they are like mini glasses. And the same goes for cupcakes. Popcakes. Kan, small things tu..

2. Packaging. Food Packaging. Hand made food packaging. Gift wrapping ideas. Dulu, my ambition was to be a packaging designer. Which, of course, didn’t really happen.

3. Greeting Cards. Handmade greeting cards to be exact. Alah comelnya. I love pop up cards. Hand painted. Comic drawn. Collage cards. Semualah.

4. Colors of rainbow. In food. Colorful cookies. Cupcakes. Rainbow cake. Macarons. Coconut candy. Flavored drinks. Jello. Am I a budak or mak budak.. heheh.

5. Ice cream. I hardly ever say no to ice cream. Dulu, my freezer would ALWAYS have ice cream. Lately ni kurang. Because there’s too much of other stuffs.. plus the EBM.

6. Grey t-shirt. Weird, eh. But my favorite t-shirts are GREY t-shirts. I love them. But currently I only own two. Of which I wear everyday and everywhere.

3 Top Annoying People On The Road

May 22, 2009 4 comments

1. People who takes up other people’s lane.

The road markings are there for a reason. So that you stay in your line when you drive. Like when you color… you stay inside the line. I could be considerate and understand if say, maybe, you’re turning at a corner or something. But this is a !@#$%*& straight line. If you’re drunk or too happy or in any way emotionally instable too drive, then don’t.

2. People Who Do Not Signal When Changing Lane

On a straight lane, I would most probably be driving fast. Maybe too fast for your own good. But that does not mean I cannot accomodate when you need to change lanes. But how the %$&@ am I supposed to know your intention if you do not tell me. And the language on the road is to turn on your signal light. And you have the nerve to glare AT ME when you’re obviously the guilty party?

3. People Who Beams At You When You Are Struggling to Give Way

Okay, as I said before.. I drive in the fast lane. But I am aware that you drive FASTER. And I obviously do not want to be in your way or in any way hasten your pace. But as you can see, and please try to see, I have given my signal light to go left, but there are obviously to many cars for me to do it RIGHT NOW, THIS INSTANCE. SO PLEASE STOP BLINKING YOUR HIGH BEAMS ON ME!

6 Rangkap Kata… Ditujukan Kepada “Si Dia”

January 18, 2008 12 comments

I feel rather popular pulak this week. Why? Because my name is mentioned here and there and everywhere. In fact it was even mentioned in a meeting yesterday. Hmm.. but not as popular as a certain model and actress

In truth, I planned to make this entry different from this one, but yesterday when I went to MPH Seremban to check out that most talked about book, it was actually *gasp* sold out! (The book is described as :”Terdapat juga unsur misteri dan unik dalam penulisan puisi penulis muda ini.” I guess the mystery is finding out the source of that puisi.)

So, today, I have to settle with this lah dulu. Ada meeting to rush to this afternoon. Btw, it’s not really a pantun. But, what the heck, orang lain pun claim tulisan dia puisi.

nama saya khairolin
saya suka tulis pantun
maaf zahir dan batin
kalau teguran tak sopan santun

ada orang jumpa satu buku
ditulis dalam bahasa melayu
kalau diterjemah satu-satu
macam pernah dengar dulu-dulu

kami semua kata tiru
kami cuba minta penjelasan
penulis kata kami tak reti tulis buku
penulis kata dia pun ada perasaan

eh kenapa macam salah je
jawapan tak menjawab soalan
kami bukan dengan dengki die
kami cuma nakkan kebenaran

wahai penulis yang juga pelakon
janganlah cepat sangat melenting
walau apa sekali pun
bercakap benar, itu yang penting

sampai di sini tulisan saya
dari hati, ilham sendiri
tulisan ni pun tak buat saya kaya
harap tiada yang terguris hati

Sekian, terima kasih.

Knowing the Gemini in Me…

October 31, 2007 Leave a comment
  1. Your ability to change with the changing winds can also lead others to see Gemini as shallow.
  2.  The most beautiful part of Gemini girls are their beautiful eyes. (is it? hahahahhahahhahah)
  3.  The eternally youthful child, no matter your chronological age.
  4. Gemini Possible Weakness: Distracting yourself from what is most important. (No wonder!!!)
  5.  When disinterested, however, the Gemini worker will procrastinate and eventually move on to more interesting pursuits. (Naturally…)
  6. Known to have a strong desire to learn, to express themselves and tell stories.
  7. Geminis aren’t fickle, it’s just a personality trait – they feel strongly both ways!
  8. A Gemini female can look at other guys, even when she is sincerely in love with you.
  9. A Gemini female will never be suspicious of you and will expect the same from you in return.
  10. If you’re a Gemini, your natural curiosity will probably drive you to look at your own astrology chart to see nuances of yourself you thought were cleverly hidden. (Hahahahhaah, ain’t that so true!)

10 Random Thoughts at Midnight… My head is not screwed properly

October 28, 2007 1 comment

1. When you look at me, or my picture there on the right side, did it ever cross your mind that someone who looks like that can have these kinds of thoughts in her head?

2. Did you assume that I am such a fickle minded person that I probably don’t have anything intelligent to write… and I am so self-centred too, that issues of the world is of little interest to me? I mean, my picture probably looks dumb to you, that you know, my writing is probably dumb too.

3.Does my writing really says that I am so unhappy? I’m bitter… I’m unfulfilled? I mean, look at my picture there… don’t I look happy? I don’t think I actually have a sad photo of myself.. go through it yourself. I guess, what I can’t express in words – happiness – i do in pictures. What I can’t reflect in pictures – I write.

4.People read my blog? Why bother? Why do I even bother to write so publicly too? I mean, if I write something… deep down, I wish it would have effects on some one, if not more. And positively too, not otherwise.

5.What do I really want at the end of this life.. Don’t judge me, but… I’m really not sure where I want to get in my life. Except for material stuffs, I don’t know what I want. But even that, I don’t know how I want to get there. I feel like a lost soul, somehow. I admit, I envy those who can visualize their future. Mmg, aku mmg jaki dgn kau.

6.Do I look like someone who’s involved in an affair? Anyone can, really. Why do people have affairs? Honestly, I think people never really plan to have affairs… Sometimes maybe, they are not even aware they are in one, until it’s too late. [When I say affair here, it does not necessarily involve sexual activity.. you know, being in another relationship other than the one you're officially or sort of officially in (engaged, dating, whatever)]. Interestingly, according to lots of articles I read, most affairs start at the workplace. Hmmm.. sad, but true. Are you in one? Maybe we all need to take a reality check… But me, affairs could just be too stressfull.. i’m such a chatterbox… I’d probably want to tell the whole world, and affairs are always a like a secret society, where the first rule is you do not  talk about it… only that this society only has 2 people. Why would I want to have an affair? Do I look like someone who’s having an affair?

7.See… I’m so not focused. My thoughts are everywhere!!! Does all these questions in my head mean that I’d probably never achieve anything in life? That I have low self-esteem? Do I? Do I? Do I?

8.What does my dad think of me… that I am more comfortable expressing my feelings and thoughts in English? Does it mean, I have no respect for my origins? I can’t help it, but I admit… If I have to address an audience, or strangers, English always give me more confidence… though it’s probably way more berterabur than if I were to use Bahasa Ibunda.

9.Can you argue unemotionally? Is it possible? I mean, do you have to be unemotional to maintain rational? Will I lose credibility if I were emotional about something so rational? You don’t get me, do you?

10.Have I spilled too much info about myself and my sick, crazy, jumbled up thoughts… I don’t believe that I don’t really care what people think of me. I don’t think I’ll ever get there.. being so careless about other people’s opinion about me.

Oh good night people. This is just way passed my bed time.

6 Weird Things About Me…

March 8, 2007 2 comments

RULES
The blogger who has been tagged must write a post of six weird things about him/her as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, s/he needs to choose six bloggers to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

You know I always write in 10s or half of 10… but since I hardly ever get tagged, I make an exception for this one. I was tagged by sufi through chech… Hmmm. So, here goes.

1. The number 8 is significant throughout my life. Weird.. entahlah.

But anyway, I was born on 2/6/1978. 2+6=8.
My ic number ends with 88. Married (nikah) on 18/8/2001.
When I was dating, my husband (then boyfriend), working with one of the telco, decided to give a free line. The number he chose (without consulting me) had a row of 8‘s in it. Four 8s to be specific.
My student id number in PPP was 9604108.
My student id number in MMU was 98100718.
I reported for duty for my current job in the month of August – the 8th month of the year.
Ohh.. during 6 months of DPA, I made friends and become close with 3 friends.. then extended to another 4. Of which now, we have become a group of 8 orang. Dan byk lagilah… i know coincidences je semua ni… tapi still… weird tak?

2. I feel uncomfortable eating if my fork and spoon don’t match

In truth, I don’t really like telling people about this, because… tak penting. Not to mention that nanti ada je nak dijadikan bahan… but yes, bila makan, my fork and spoon have to match. It has to be of the same type, pattern, weight… a pair lah. Kalau bukan pair dia, macam tak best sgtlah makan. I can’t really remember when I started feeling like this, but my guess is when I was 16… masa boarding school – our meals have to be eaten with fork and spoon. Else, one would be fined. Stupid tak?

3. Saya tak suka banyak kasut.

People say, women can’t be separated from shoes. Some men say, women take ages to shop for shoes. Well, I take forever to shop for anything. But, me… kalau boleh nak ada as minimal number of shoes as possible. I would usually have one pair of black shoes for work. One that I would wear sampai koyak or rosak. A pair for casual… Sandals. Sports Shoes.. aaarrgh.. tu pon dah rasa byk. Sebab byk-byk rasa rimas. Seriously. Kalau ikut hati, kasut kat rumah byk-byk tu rasa nak buang je semua. Tapi karang nak pakai takde pulak yg sesuai utk different clothes. Hmmm..

4. I love ICE

Not ice the drugs… but ice, ice.. AIR BATU…frozen water. Not weird? How about ICE with RICE? When I was younger, about 4-5 yrs old.. I loved eating ice. If I could, I wanted to chew on it forever. I loved it so much that one day I said to my sister: "Kak Long, kenapalah kita tak boleh makan ais dengan nasi? Kan best, hari-hari boleh makan air batu." And I remembered, next thing I knew, I was doing exactly that. And I discovered, tak best sangat pon.. sebab nanti ais cair, nasi jadi basah. Anyway, I still love ice and all iced beverages… but I dont eat it with rice anymore… coz, it’s too weird.. heh (Hey, that rhymes.. ICE and RICE… heheh).

5. I get ticklish all over when I’m laughing too hard

I’m not that ticklish except for the common spots.. you know, tapak kaki.. ketiak (dah tua-tua ni ada ke org nak geletek ketiak.. lebih-lebih lagi kalau tak wax or shave… hahahahaha).. But when I’m laughing hard.. all parts of my body is ticklish. Please don’t touch me when I’m laughing or else, I’ll laugh harder.. then I’d be laughing too hard and next thing I know, I can’t breath. Serious.

6. This is not so weird… tapi nak tulis jugak. I had my first lesson about period when I was 7
.
It happened when I went to my friends house. I stayed till maghrib… so when the azan comes, I asked to borrow the telekung and sejadah. Then, my friend told me.. (Imagine 7 yr old girls whispering, as if talking of something secretive and something important)… "My mom is not that well. Sometimes she would bleed, for days. And when that happens, she can’t pray." And I remember thinking, kesiannya mak dia. The moment I arrived home, I went straight to my mom repeat the whole thing… with additional intro: "Kesian mak dia, ibu…" (At the back of my mind was, my friend’s mom could die.. not knowing it would happen to me too, only 5 years later). And my mom’s reaction to my whole kesian story was… unconcerned and unimpressed. Boleh tak?

So.. there! Since the rule is clear, i have to tag 6 other ppl.. darn. Sape ek.. my college friend, kay. yus (i hope she has wonderful stories for me.. hehe). faruq. my school friend maz. ahmed syam (now that he has a blog) and nak sgt blog this friend, but I’m not supposed to tell he has a blog… I’ll tag him anyway. Done!
